Supporting the slow fashion movement, outfit ten...
My main focus has always been based around slow fashion and building a more sustainable wardrobe.
Now I want to share my own sustainable and slow fashion outfits with all of you over on my @alexandra.mount Instagram page! Every few weeks you can expect a new outfit with a breakdown on where I source the items, any upcycling I've done for the fit and the overall cost of each. Outfit ten is now ready to view below!
Outfit Ten
For this look I wanted to keep it super casual for an easy errand running outfit. This whole look screams 'gym wear but make it fashion'.
Sourcing the Outfits
All of these items were purchased from second-hand apps except the socks which were bought new and the necklace which is an old gift. I also upcycled the New Balance trainers and you can find the video below!
Crop Top
I still wear this crop top to absolute death and love it! I bought it second hand on Vinted a few years ago and it also appeared in my first sustainable outfit look. It's such a staple that I'm fully expecting to wear it so many more times until the poor thing is crumbling apart.
Leggings
@keepingitcaspule put me onto T/ALA by featuring them so often in her eco friendly outfit inspiration reels over on Instagram (definitely worth a follow). I found these ones on Depop (as this brand can be pricey) and now I understand the hype. These are so soft and comfortable they've become my go-to whenever I need to run errands!
Jacket
This jacket was a @ragtrade_relovedclothing find and it was a true bargain at only £8.00 for the trench itself (£3.50 postage). It's super neutral so goes with so many outfits, perfect for throwing on over leggings or blue jeans!
Cap
I found this cap on Amazon and use it on those days that I need a little ego boost. I'm just as 'daddy' as any guy, girl or them out there!
Tote Bag
Another Vinted find but after looking into the And Happenings brand I discovered such a sweet small business. Sadly they haven't posted since last year and their bio on Instagram states 'taking a break' so I don't think they are currently trading but they have some super cute designs.
Socks
I feel like so many people have a pair of these socks. They are comfy, sleek and not crazy expensive so just a go-to choice.
Trainers
I found these New Balance trainers on Vinted for £4.50! Originally I was trying to find a neutral version but even second-hand they are expensive so I decided to pick a style that I liked and just upcycle them! I got a black and white trainer paint but the other items I used were already in my home. Such a fun project and I love the revamped sneakers!
Necklace
This necklace was a gift from my grandfather who has now passed. It's so simple and the chain is not too chunky making it perfect for everyday wear. I feel like gifts like these are so special because each time I wear this necklace I remember that my granddad is watching over me!
